To Whom It May ****************** May 8, 2023, Exeter Finance LLC (Exeter) received notice regarding a complaint filed through the Better Business Bureau (BBB). If ***** has any questions about these or any other concerns, Exeter encourages them to contact the Office of the President at ************. Under separate cover, ***** will receive a copy of this letter and the final determination letter dated May 2, 2023, and mailed on May 3, 2023, for their records. Smiths renewed complaint provides no new information therefore, we are closing it as already being answered. As advised in our final determination letter of May 2, 2023, a thorough investigation of their previous complaint was conducted, and based on our investigation, we determined the account is valid and was not affected by identity theft. On May 09, 2023, Exeter mailed ***** a letter advising on May 9, 2023, we received subsequent correspondence from them regarding an identity theft complaint. On May 9, 2023, Exeter Finance LLC (Exeter) received notice regarding a complaint filed through the Better Business Bureau. Very unprofessional and illegal behavior by Exeter.Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan ***********. ![]() Furthermore they did not notify me, as required by law, of the place and time of the auction or give me any opportunity to get my car back although I made sure they had all my correct contact info. So with virtually no notification They repossessed my vehicle. They had called in my deferred payments during the pandemic and I had no way of knowing. They kept getting returned mail for me because they put Dr instead of Av but didn't bother to call me, plus i travel and it's only my mailing address, which they knew. However they do not send email or put things on their website which is supposed to be your only interface, they only send important things through the US mail. I initially appreciated Exeter Finance because they gave me a chance when I was not doing that well and seemed to have decent customer service. ![]() Im going to my bank for a lower rate so I can own my pay my car off faster. But you would think after a year the loan amount would drop down at lease several hundred but nope. I been paying on my loan for a year and the balance is the same as it was when I bought my car. ![]()
